Qualitative & Quantitative Composition

The active ingredients are measured based on a 60 mL daily adult dose:⁴

• Codeine Phosphate Hydrate (50 mg):⁵ A narcotic antitussive that acts directly on the cough center in the brain to suppress the cough reflex.⁶

• dl-Methylephedrine Hydrochloride (75 mg):⁷ A bronchodilator that relaxes bronchial muscles, expanding the airways to ease breathing.⁸

• Chlorpheniramine Maleate (12 mg):⁹ An antihistamine that reduces coughs caused by allergic triggers and irritation.¹⁰

• Anhydrous Caffeine (60 mg):¹¹ Helps alleviate the grogginess associated with cough/cold symptoms and may reduce the sedative effects of the antihistamine.

• Senega Liquid Extract (1,500 mg):¹² A herbal expectorant that increases airway secretions to thin out phlegm, making it easier to expel.¹³

Excipients: Sodium citrate, citric acid, sodium benzoate, methylparaben, propylene glycol, glycerin, D-sorbitol, caramel, fragrance, ethanol, and pH-adjusting agents.¹⁴

Dosage & Administration

The syrup should be taken 3 times a day after meals. If symptoms are severe, it can be taken up to 6 times a day with at least 4 hours between doses.¹⁵

• Drowsiness: This product causes significant sleepiness.¹⁶ Do not drive or operate heavy machinery while using it.¹⁷

• Contraindications: Do not use if you have a history of allergies to this medicine, or if you are under 12 years of age.¹⁸
